London Art Wall Artists Bring Shoreditch Street Art to Burberry's Printemps 'London Mania' Event for Paris Fashion Week
September / October 2013
Summary: London Art Walls were invited to provide a team of international street artists to work their magic on eight London phone boxes and create two photo-collage murals, as part of their in-store displays, for Burberry's 'London Mania' event at Printemps' Paris, for Paris Fashion Week, sponsored by the British Fashion Council.
Shoreditch, London, September 23:- Today, London Art Walls (londonartwalls.com) announced the successful completion of a Paris and London Fashion Weeks' project for Paris' luxury department store, Printemps, entitled 'London Mania', which called on the talent of three multinational street artists and a London-based photo-collage artist, who were commissioned to do the work. Sponsored by Burberry, in conjunction with the British Fashion Council, the artists transformed eight replicas of London phone boxes into unique art pieces and created two outstanding photo-collage murals, in Printemps' flagship, Boulevard Haussmann store.
The participating artists were: painters, Mateus Bailon from Brazil; Spiros Halaris from Greece; Kef! From Germany and photo-collagist, Roger Molloy from Shoreditch, London.
The London phone boxes and photo-collage murals will be on display in Printemps, Paris, until late October and then will travel to Printemps' Swiss store, for display there. The phone boxes will be auctioned off in the UK, later in the year, to benefit a charity yet to be announced. Roger Molloy's Printemps-inspired imagery is currently featured on the Shoreditch Art Wall, where it will be on display until October 2nd.
Peter Mackeonis, a founding partner at London Art Walls comments, “We are pleased to have been invited to be part of this truly exciting project that melded the work of highly talented international artists into London and Paris fashion weeks and brought Printemps to the Shoreditch Art Wall.”
